Perfect Light and Neutral Classics
J Crew Grey Wide Leg Pant in Wool

Pants: J Crew // T Shirt: Banana Republic (On sale for less than $20!) // Trench Coat: Forever 21 // Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell // Necklace: Forever 21 // Sunglasses: Forever 21 (Sold Out, but Quay's are AMAZING!)

The older I get the more I appreciate classic timeless clothing. Striped t's, trench coats, and beautiful leather shoes seem to be pieces I reach for day-in and day-out. The whole 'throw-on-and go' method of dressing is a lot easier when the largest chunk of my wardrobe is occupied by neutrals with staying power - and I'm definitely a 'throw-on-and-go kinda gal. Another bonus? Neutral classics tend to transcend season and can be easily remixed for new looks as temperatures change.

Just about everything I'm wearing today is 'leftover' from previous season or year. These winter wool trousers from J Crew are light and heavy enough for the burgeoning days of spring. Last year's trench from Forever 21 still feel fresh as a light topper. And my favorite Jeffrey Campbell flats from last fall have held up so well they'll last through spring and into the following fall. The only new thing on my body today is this striped t-shirt from Banana. (It was on sale for less than $20 so I STOCKED UP!)

I swear! Some days feel like spring and some days I find myself still swearing at the icy wind and barren landscape. But these transient weather patterns have brought some interesting conditions for lighting. The day I shot these I found myself with one of those perfect skies: a sunny day behind the a slight haze of fast moving clouds and mist. I love light that's filtered just enough to leave a soft little shadow every where I go, but not so much to blind me with glare and overexposure. PERFECT LIGHT. I hope you're find yours!
